From Mekael Ejigu
The most impactful event that has changed in my life, was the C.H.O.I.C.E (Choose How One Inner Choice Effects) I made to move forward with my life’s task. For someone who had made a successful career in the Information Technology industry for many years, it certainly was not an easy decision to make.
Trading comfortable safety and security for uncertainty, starting over and putting in another decade of work to live the life I truly wish to live was a difficult choice indeed. Why would anyone look the other way when you seemingly have everything you need?
Well the question really is, do you truly have everything you need or is it a facade?
You can defend the question all you like and provide every logical reason for not following your passion, but when does safety and security overwhelm what your heart is calling you to do? I’ll put my story in a bit of context here so you can visualize and passively experience my story:
- 20 Years of Martial Arts Training, National Competition, Teaching, Team Coaching.
- Graduated with a B.A in Philosophy in Law and Society
- Microsoft Certified IT Pro, Semiconductors, Systems & Network Administration, Global Help Desk Management, M&A Project Management
- Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Instructor, Teacher Training Coach
- CHEK Institute Holistic Lifestyle Coach
Looking at my history, where the heck does I.T fit in with teaching people how their body, mind and spirit work? It really doesn’t HOWEVER, the communication, management and business skills I learned on the job were quite valuable.
Yet, it wasn’t where my heart was – it still isn’t it.
Working and growing within I.T was a learning experience, providing me with financial security and a taste of what the industry and market was like, but when you spend your time at lunch studying anatomy, program design, reading influential books, listening to audiobooks and creating content that had nothing to do with I.T for years – you have to start questioning what you’re doing with your life.
We all have stories, some of us are still working a full-time job to support their family which is fantastic! My situation is different but the impact is still the same – that is how do you reconcile where you were, what you have been doing and where do you want to be in the future?
What legacy will you leave behind and what contribution of your energy was gifted to the world?
That is a story which is still being written and most likely won’t be finished until my very last breath. Until then I will continue my mission of empowering others to becoming a more powerful version of themselves through Body, Mind and in Life.
I invite you assess your D.R.E.A.M (Direct Reflection Expressing A Miracle), look at the intention behind it (what is your why) and are you moving in a direction towards your D.R.E.A.M? Food for thought, but I guarantee you – it will be some of the most delicious ambrosia you have ever tasted friend.
Keep growing stronger Mekael!
Each and every day,
