From Sam William,
It requires a very deep and personal commitment towards the change you wish to create through your motivation. What I mean by that is if the desire and impact of a motivation goal is truly worth your time and investment, motivation will always come to you because it means that much to you.
If you lack enthusiasm, motivation will diminish
By being enthusiastic about changing your life, reaching a particular goal and so on, you will have created for yourself an internal space (mind-body) to which the energy required to move towards your life affirmative goal will be at the ready. The more energy you can create inside for your “bucket”, the more motivation you’ll have to see it through to the end.
Start by asking yourself, “What is my Dream?”. Your D.R.E.A.M (Direct Reflection Expressing A Miracle) is the purpose you have in life (career, family, vocation, achievements). Without identifying your ultimate WHY for how you live your life, motivation for common things will leave you unfulfilled and without any direct results.
Assess, Strategize, Action
Take a look at where you are now with your motivational goal, what resources do you need, how much time do you need to spend on it, how much energy can you devote towards it and what deadline are you making for it?
Once you’re able to assess your goal, create a plan or strategy to help you get to where you want to be. Get a journal, write down what it is you wish to see change, divide up your day adequately so you devote sufficient time for your goal and log every success or failure along the way.
Lastly, take action! A plan without action is like getting in a boat, having a desire to travel to an island and then sitting there thinking about it; you have the equipment, the resources, the plan you just gotta go do it now!
Your D.R.E.A.M Comes First
Motivation is what get’s you going on the journey, but without firmly indicating your WHY/D.R.E.A.M all of the motivation in the world for micro-goals and subtasks will not create lasting change in the bigger picture.
*Warning, this next part will be a rant*
I say this because i’ve answered probably 15–20 questions in the past WEEK on how to get motivated and keep motivated. It’s not about HOW to get motivated, people get motivated to go to a baseball game! You see what i’m saying?
If you want to become motivated it’s because deep down inside you wish to see something change in your life, start with your WHY and make sure that it’s clearly stated. Everything else flows down from your why including values, personality, attitude and interactions with other people.
I hope that helps Sam,
Keep growing stronger,
